You certainly should furthermore be sure to thoroughly look over the terms and conditions of any stores you are seriously considering obtaining from.

Contact Lenses Without a Prescription
By gooseandgander | January 18, 2009
Even though you can get non prescription contacts, they aren’t meant to correct your vision. Known as plano, the most common type of non prescription contact lenses are the opaque color contact lenses. Even though they don’t require a prescription, those who want them need to consult with an optometrist first to ensure they get the right fit.
Locally or on the Internet, you can find many different varieties of non prescription contact lenses available. You can find lenses that enhance the natural color of your eyes, lenses that enhance your look, and many others. There are also Halloween contact lenses as well, which are great for Halloween or other times when you want to look different.
With non prescription contact lenses, you’ll have the choice of daily wear and disposable lenses. If you are looking to change colors on a frequent basis, disposable lenses may be your best choice. The best thing about disposable lenses is the fact that you don’t need to clean them at all, simply wear them during the day then take them out and discard them at night.
If you are going to use the same color or the same pair of contacts for a while, you may want to go with daily wear lenses. Daily wear contact lenses will last you a lot longer than the disposable lenses, although they will need to be disinfected and cleaned on a regular basis. As long as you clean and disinfect them on a regular basis, they will last you for quite a while.
Without the supervision of a doctor, may doctors don’t advise the use of non prescription contact lenses. Doctors will tell you that when they don’t monitor the fitting, usage of the contacts, and the overall effects, they may cause you serious problems and possibly even blindness. While a lot of people use non prescription contacts, few of them experience serious problems.
When an individual buys non prescription contacts without going to see an optician, they tend to forget the fact that contacts aren’t for everyone. The amount of tears, shape of the eye, and need for correction varies from person to person. To get the right fit, you must consult an optician, as he will need to carefully examine you.
Even though they may work great for some, non prescription lenses aren’t for everyone. Anytime you use them, you should be very carefully and take the necessary care for your lenses. If you are a diabetic, you’ll need to be very carefully, for the simple fact that eye infections will take a long time to heal. Even though you may not get an infection, there is always a small chance that it could happen. Therefore, you should always be carefully anytime you use these types of contacts.

Area Museums Educate and Entertain
By gooseandgander | January 14, 2009
If you love learning, and I hope you do, because once you stop learning, there really is no need to continue existing, then there will be plenty of museums in and around Seattle Washington that will feed the mind while entertaining you and your family. The vast number of museums in this area makes it a very interesting place to visit. There are museums here that cover everything from the Klondike Gold Rush to Log Houses and many, many things in between.
In addition to the two museums mentioned above there are several interesting museums to visit while in Seattle. The first one is the Museum of Flight. This is probably one of the museums that Seattle is most proud of. It is consistently voted one of, if not the best of its kind in the country. Learn about the history of flight and even take a ride in a flight simulator or tour the original Air Force One. No matter how you feel about flying, I’m almost certain that someone in your group (especially if there are any boys) will find this museum to be of great interest.
The Northwest Railway Museum is another museum that is not only educational but also fun for everyone in the family as well. Visit the Depot, which has been fully restored to its originally splendor or take a ride on one of the trains. Whatever you fancy, your little guy’s (even your not so little guy’s) eyes will light up at the idea of riding the rails. The mission of this museum is to educate the public on the vital role that railroads have played in the development of Washington State throughout history. I think they are achieving their goal quite nicely and am happy to be able to make more of the public aware of them and their mission.
The next museum that is a little out of the ordinary and yet vastly interesting and educational is the Whale Museum. This is of particular interest if you intend to do any whale watching while you are visiting the great city of Seattle. Whale watching is always a great deal of fun and it is even more fun if you are armed with the knowledge that can be gleaned by spending a little time learning about whales at the Whale Museum before you go on your whale watching excursion.
The Odyssey Maritime Discovery Center is another of the great museums that can be found in Seattle. This museum not only offers great resources and information about the maritime history that is so important to Seattle today but interactive displays that encourage children to learn and explore by doing. This is a great place to spend the day, but pay close attention to their hours for the day you are planning to attend as this center has shorter weekday hours than most museums.
The Wing Luke Asian Museum is the only museum of its kind in the U.S. This museum is devoted to preserving and promoting Asian Pacific American culture, history, and art. This museum has a permanent exhibit that is set up to remind us of the internment camps that were used for Japanese Americans during the Second World War. I think that this, more than anything else is an important reminder and well worth the visit and there are many more exhibits that offer entertainment and education.
I hope that you will visit one or more of these great museums. I think you will be surprised to find how educational and fun they really are for the entire family.

Things To Look Out For When Making Cell Phone Purchases
By gooseandgander | January 14, 2009
A big and always growing mobile phone market following the rule of introducing the newest new phone has now made it extensively hard for customers to compare phone deals. Most of the time, there are lots of aspects that customers may need to look into when making mobile comparisons that some of the very most primary ones get missed out. Hunt for the best Vodafone deals online with Mobileshop.
As a result, you consistently end up having a cell phone which is either too high priced or a cell phone which is not ideal for your cell phone text profile. So we tell you here about the two very most vital things that individuals should regularly look at when making cell phone comparisons. This might well help folk land a mobile phone that at least meets the standard criteria mobile phone customers are looking for.
The full mobile market is booming on the basis of eye-opening features like camcorders that keep getting added every week. Nevertheless, an uncommonly large majority of individuals purchase cell phones based on their appearance, brand image and magnificent marketing only to regret later on when they find that their fantastic cellphone lacks a truly basic feature like sending text or video photography. Legions of astonishing high end mobile phones sell on the basis of hype, brand and aesthetics at costs that are unjustified given the lack of features. For example the most recent Apple iphone does not let customers forward text messages to all. Unfortunately, Apple Iphones target audience, eighteen to thirty five, gets to regret the removal of this cell phone feature only after spending weeks worth of pocket money on it. Therefore make sure that your wonderful new cell phone has all the features like interactive maps you require before paying up. Since mobile phone businesses will never tell mobile phone customers about the breathtaking features like movie players that their phones lack, researching online mobile phone write-ups is the very best way to do it.

All Natural Freebies Abound in Seattle
By gooseandgander | January 11, 2009
If you’re an outdoors kind of person and really enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, or simply enjoy not being trapped inside a building all day, then Seattle Washington has plenty to offer you should you decide to visit. When planning your visit to Seattle, you will probably find that there are many things that appeal to you and it is quite difficult to narrow them down by interest alone.
This is the point when I divide activities into categories such as: things I really want to do, things that seem interesting, and things that will really just pass the time. Then, I take those things and do a reality (which translates to price) check. I try to justify the expenses of the things I really want to do that are more than I’d like to pay by sneaking in things I’d like to do equally as much for free. It’s a great concept and works really well when giving children a choice of activities. Let them choose between two free activities. They still get a voice and feel as though they are an important part of the decision making process and you aren’t spending $50 an hour for them to jump on a fancy trampoline.
Here are some of the excellent free activities that can be enjoyed in the great outdoors of Seattle Washington. The really great news is that many of these are actually both entertaining and educational. This is good for you and the kids who will leave Seattle with some degree of knowledge about something other than the ice cream flavors that are offered there.
The first freebie that I recommend is the Volunteer Park Conservatory. This is of special interest to those who love flowers. The conservatory is divided into five houses which each provides a suitable habitat for growing very specific plants. The five houses are: Bromeliad House, which is members of the pineapple family; Palm House, which consists of about 1200 species; Fern House, which features an assortment of tropical ferns and other exotic plants; Seasonal Display House, which changes with the season and consists of many common and recognizable house plants; and Cactus House, which is rather self explanatory. The conservatory is free to the public and a great way to pass time for any flower lover in your group.
Next there is the Washington Arboretum Park. This park is actually a 200-acre arboretum that was designed by the same firm responsible for the design of Central Park in New York. The park hosts 40,000 trees, shrubs, and vines. You can pay for a tour or simply wander around and enjoy the landscape. The purpose of this park is to preserve certain species of plants while offering education to the public and anyone who wishes to learn and benefit from the knowledge that can be gained there.
Next there is the Woodland Park Rose Garden. This garden is located next to the zoo but is open to the public free of charge. There is a $4 parking fee during zoo hours, but parking is free after hours. The climate of Seattle is mild enough that roses seem to flourish and grow beautifully here. The rose gardens receive over 200,000 visitors each year and are a great sight to see while you are visiting Seattle.
Finally, there is Discovery Park. This park offers stunning views and a place to contemplate the beauty of nature and the surroundings of Seattle. The park itself is 534-acres making it the largest city park in Seattle. The purpose of this park was to provide sanctuary for wildlife and a place to learn about nature for those who were interested. The park has a play area for children, picnic equipment, and trails and paths for exploration.
Nature is a wonderful thing to behold and Seattle is blessed with some of the most beautiful natural surroundings on earth. It only makes sense that while on vacation you should be able to enjoy the beautiful plants, animals, and scenery that abound in the area. I sincerely hope you take the opportunity to enjoy some of these great places.

Trendy Plus Size Clothing Provide Chic and Stylish Looks for Large Women
By gooseandgander | January 2, 2009
Some while back, good looking clothing was simply not available for women with a big or tall frame. Big men, on the other hand, have had specialty shops for decades. Well, if you’re a large woman, you certainly don’t need to settle for baggy dresses and clothing lacking in flair. Trendy plus size clothing is designed for you, in styles which emphasize your best features, minimize flaws and make a trendy fashion statement all in a single garment. You’re no longer limited in your choice of manufacturers or styles. The trendy plus size clothing market is now trendy, booming and fiercely competitive. There are plenty of options to choose from, with designers vying for your business, both at the mall and particularly, online.
The trendy plus size clothing lines include office, casual and dress wear. Designers and buyers look for clothing that’s especially complimentary to a larger women. Just as a skinny Minnie looks gaunt and unattractive in a vertically striped dress, so there are patterns, cuts and detailing you want to avoid. For example, a skirt cut on the bias enhances a graceful appearance for you, while a pencil skirt style with pleating at the waistband is both uncomfortable and unattractive. When designers and buyers focus on your needs, they keep these parameters in mind, incorporating today’s trendy looks in costumes that have you looking chic and up to date.
When shopping some of the trendy plus size clothing boutiques or department store lines at the mall, consult with a fitter to become familiar with the clothing styles that look best on you. If your weight is evenly distributed, almost everything carried in such boutiques will look well on you. If your thighs are quite heavy, ask the fitter’s advice on styles that will visually balance your figure most attractively. In this case, a longer jacket worn with pants creates an optical illusion of greater balance, whereas a jacket with a fitted waistline may only emphasize your thighs.
Remember, too, that just because a clothing style is trendy, doesn’t necessarily make it a good choice for you. Women with skinny frames face the same problem. Trendy doesn’t equal attractive, unless it suits your body and proportions, showing them to best advantage.
There are thousands of online trendy plus size clothing boutiques. When you feel you’ve got a handle on cuts, styles and patterns that are best for you, take a cruise around the net. Online boutiques which specialize in trendy plus size clothing usually feature accessories and jewelry items which are coordinated with the clothing on offer. Ethnic clothing is now a popular fashion trend, as are Impressionistic styles, modeled after paintings by such masters as Monet and others. In short, there’s a lot of choices out there now. Throw out those muu-muus and be a fashion diva!

Retail Clothing
By gooseandgander | January 2, 2009
A lot of people who work in the retail clothing industry hate their jobs. To me, however, selling retail apparel is about the best gig I have ever had. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of drawbacks. The pay is lousy, the customers are demanding, and my boss is somewhat moody and difficult to work for. Nevertheless, it all comes down to one thing for me: I love clothes, and I want to make fashion design and marketing my career.
Not a day goes by in this retail clothing store that I don’t get a new idea for a product that I would like to make. You see, I have been making my own clothes since I was very young. It has always been a passion for me, but it took me awhile to think about the fact that I could make a living at it. I never went to fashion school, or even took many art classes. I graduated with a bachelor’s in English, and was in the workforce for two years before I understood what my dream was. Rather than going back to school, however, I decided to get some on-the-job experience to help me pursue my dream. I was anxious, after all, to get out into the real world.
Some of my more ambitious colleagues want to start retail clothing stores themselves. One of them even proposed going into business together. For me, however, this isn’t the way to go. I like to work selling clothing retail because, besides paying the bills, it lets me see what people look for in clothing. Ultimately, however, I want to start a wholesale clothing business. Retail clothing is alright, but selling wholesale has a lot of advantages.
You see, I don’t plan to be a major producer. Instead, I want to make handmade clothing in small runs. Selling online means that I have less overhead. I can sell clothing wholesale to anyone who is interested for discounted prices and still turn a good profit! I can even sell some of my products to local stores, bridging the retail wholesale divide. That way, people can discover my clothing through local vendors and then, once they find what they like, buy it direct from the supplier. I don’t think it will make me rich, but I’ll have enough to live on and be able to be my own boss for once!

Use Old Crayons to Make Candles
By gooseandgander | December 5, 2008
If you have children in your home, chances are you have an abundance of worn down crayons that don’t get used much anymore. Before throwing them out and buying new ones, consider using them to make candles. This can be a great way to turn them into something new and bright again. Most children will love the idea of creating candles with you and enjoy knowing their old crayons helped create them. Making candles out of crayons can also be a great gift giving idea.
Before you get started, discuss safety with your children. Since the crayons will have to be melted at a very high heat, they will not be able to participate in that portion of the candle making process. Assure them that there are many other aspects of the candle making that they can be a part of. To start, gather your supplies. In addition to the crayons, you will need a wax cartoon. This can be from milk, fabric softener, or orange juice. You will also need paraffin wax, two full ice cube trays, a double boiler, and white packing string. If you don’t want to use your double boiler an old coffee can and a saucepan will work just as well.
Trim the top off of the wax carton, leaving it approximately six inches high. You will want to cut the string at least 8 inches long. You will later cut the wick to fit the holder. To ensure a wick that burns easier take three pieces and bread them together. Use smaller pieces of string to tie the ends together. The holders for your candles can be anything you desire as long as they are non-flammable. Pretty vases, glasses, and jars work nicely.
Melt about three pounds of paraffin wax in the double boiler or coffee can. To help it melt faster, cut it into small chunks. The melting process with take about fifteen to twenty minutes. While the wax is melting, peel the papers off of the old crayons. You and your children can choose to separate the colors by lights and darks to have a mix that melds well or you can mix it all together and see what the color ends up being.
For best results, only add the crayons to the wax after it has completely melted. After the crayons and wax have both melted together, immediately remove the mixture from the stove and pour into your candle holders. If you would like to make scented candles try adding a splash of cinnamon or vanilla to your hot wax mixture.
It is important that the candles by left alone to completely harden. Make sure you have an area this can be done without disruption. It is also important to make sure small children can’t reach them, as out of curiosity they may want to check on their candles. The wax will stay hot for several hours and can scold the skin.
Making candles out of old crayons is a great way to spend the afternoon creating a neat project with your children. This process can also be done at schools and childcare centers with old crayons as presents for parents. Simply allow each child to decorate the outside of their candle holder while adults complete the rest of the process.
